Sandbeck Farm Childcare

Welcome to Sandbeck Farm Childcare!

Hi, my name is Christina Kelly and I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher and an Ofsted registered childminder. We moved to Sandbeck Farm in August 2013 and converted the former piggery into a purpose built childcare annex and Sandbeck Farm Childcare then opened in February 2014. I work alongside Emma Pattinson and Asami Costa who are both extremely experienced and both have three children of their own. Our eldest two children Matilda (age 9) and Wilf (age 8) attend St Joseph's Primary School in Wetherby and Martha (age 2) joins in with the fun with the childcare children!

The spacious annex is attached to our family home and has been carefully planned and designed soley for childcare. We can therefore offer the personal level of a childminder that many parents are looking for but with a superb playspace and large outdoor space, all permanently set up for looking after children. There is a small kitchen area for food preparation, a large well designed and resourced playroom with extensive natural light and a further carpeted play space for quieter activities. In addition to this there are two small 'sleep rooms' for those all important nap times so your child can sleep in a safe, quiet environment. There is a large outdoor play garden which is fully enclosed and accessed through patio doors directly from the playroom. A gate also allows access from this into the acre of land which Sandbeck Farm is set in.

Our Mission

To offer a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children, looked after by caring and professional staff.

Learning through play at Sandbeck Farm

The playroom has a practical laminate flooring, ideal for messy activities including painting, play dough, exploration with different materials, sticky pictures and baking. There is a role play area currently set up as a 'home corner' and plenty of space for building train tracks, mega block creations and two small world tables. The toys are easily accessible in storage units for children to choose and there are plenty of books for story time and for children to access freely.

We love to be outside and the outdoor learning environment is a fabulous area for children to extend their play and a superb space to capture children's natural curiosity about the natural world. We go out for lots of safe walks on the bridleways and the countryside surrounding us lends itself beautifully to Bear Hunts, minibeast hunts and wildlife spotting.

Ofsted Report March 2018

We were delighted to be graded as Outstanding in all areas in our recent Ofsted inspection.

"Teaching is inspirational. The childminder skilfully turns every opportunity, including planned and spontaneous activities, into high-quality learning experiences for children."

"Children are provided with an exceptionally rich and varied learning environment that stimulates their excitement, interest and curiosity."
